Joshua 11 shows us that the size of the enemy ...the size of the battle...does not determine the outcome. God does!

So when you’re facing something that feels huge and impossible, something that’s coming at you with “heavy forces” (whether financial, health‑related, relational, or anything else):

Do. Not. Be. Afraid.

Listen for the Lord. He will give you clear instruction on how to "dismantle" the problem right in front of you.

Remember everything He has already done and brought you through.

(Write it down if you need to — so you can go back and remind yourself of His faithfulness.)

And as always… the battle has already been won.

Our part is simply to listen, obey, and walk through to the other side where His rest is waiting for us...til the next battle.

(And yes… there will always be more battles here on earth 😁 — but He will be faithful in every single one!)

So Walk with Purpose!!! 💕

NOW....Let's get down to the actual chapters!

(as always...I Do suggest you grabbing your Bible and reading in Full though)

Ch. 11 Northern Kings Defeated:

When the king of Hazor heard of everything that just happened with All the Southern and Western cities being defeated by Joshua and the Israelites, he sent word to a great bit of other Northern city kings. They all joined forces and came out with a HUGE Army of troops and a Large Number of horses and chariots....which was like "High tech military equipment" back then.

Verse 4 says they were as Numerous as the Sand on the Seashore!!!

Just imagine how Joshua and the Israelites must have felt. It probably seemed like this battle was going to be impossible.

BUT God!!! He reminded and gave Joshua Clear Instruction in Verse 6

"Do Not Be Afraid of them, because by this time tomorrow I will hand all of them, slain, over to Israel. You are to hamstring their horses and burn their chariots"
This whole moment built up their confidence.
And yes, I know it sounds harsh for those poor horses, BUT again… they were used like high‑tech military equipment. Basically, God was telling Joshua to dismantle the equipment....
the problem

So after hearing from the Lord, Joshua and his army came against them and attacked. He did exactly what God instructed, and God handed the enemy over to Israel.

Joshua then turned back and defeated Hazor, putting everyone to the sword. Because Hazor was the head of this whole operation, it was the only city that was burned.

*A Little Side Note From Verse 20...

" For it was the Lord himself who hardened their hearts to wage war against Israel, so that He might destroy them totally, exterminating them without mercy, as the Lord had commanded Moses"

This verse can sound VERY harsh, and almost like God took away their free will, but that’s not what’s happening. Romans 1: 18-32  explains how God’s wrath is revealed against all godlessness and wickedness of people who suppress the truth. Since creation, God has made His power known so that people are without excuse. These kings and their people had turned their backs on God. They were involved in everything that goes against Him.

So basically, God gave them over to the desires of their hearts and poured out His judgment on them.

*Now Back to What Happened Next… After burning Hazor and carrying off all the plunder and livestock from the other cities Joshua and the Israelites went and destroyed the Anakites...who were like Giants!!

Then the land had rest from war!! Thank you Lord!!! 💕

Chapter 12 is basically a whole list of all the territories they took possession of...which is wonderful for remembrance because it shows His faithfulness and where His hand has been in it all. 💖
