I just want to start out by saying...Joshua 13–14 may seem like a boring list of lands, but I promise....theres a Message!!!
(Ch13) Land Still to Be Taken:
First thing in Ch 13 it Tells us Joshua is up there in age, and God tells him "There are still Very Large areas of land to be taken over"...
Meaning....There is STILL Work To do!!!

He starts listing out all the regions and also lets Joshua know that HE Himself will drive out the people from the mountain regions. He also tells Joshua "Be sure to distribute this land to Israel for an inheritance and divide it among the nine tribes and half of the tribe of Manasseh.
Do you Realize the Faith and Trust one must have in order to start mapping and handing out Promises that haven't even come to or been fulfilled yet?!?
It goes on to talk about the land that the other half of Manasseh, the Reubenites, and Gadites had received back when Moses was leading them. (Numbers 32)
Then get this....out of 33 verses in the chapter, only two mention the Levites.
So, Lets talk about them real quick✨
After the golden calf incident in Exodus, God set the Levites apart and formally consecrated them in Numbers to serve the whole nation.
So, they didn’t get a chunk of land like the other tribes. Instead, their inheritance was different. They received God himself and the sacrificial portions and tithes that supported their ministry. They were able to live in Levitical towns scattered across the land so they could serve, teach, and help everyone worship!
Moving along to Ch 14...
They began the "official" process of dividing the land.
Then Caleb steps forward, reminds Joshua how the other spies had terrified the people back in the day, and declares that he “wholeheartedly followed the Lord.”
And because of that faithfulness he asks for the inheritance God had promised him back then. Caleb also points out that he is now 85 years old and is still as strong as the day when Moses sent him out. So, even though the people are large and strong in the land Caleb was promised....he trusted...at 85 YEARS OLD....that the Lord was going to drive them out as promised.
His example shows that faithfulness and shows age does not cancel a calling.
My Takeaway:
As long as there’s breath in our lungs

and we’re still here on this earth; There’s still work to do!
Faith doesn’t wait until everything is perfect to start planning.
Faith trusts God’s promise and begins to act even when the battles may look impossible.
Whether the battles are physical or spiritual, both work together and play a part in our purpose.
God still has work for us to finish....
You’ve already come so far. So, don’t settle when there’s so much more God has waiting for you.
Even when things don’t look promising, keep trusting God’s plan...
His promises aren’t finished, and your faith matters in the work that still has to be done! 💕
He Loves you....and So do I!

Reflection Question:
How does Caleb’s example change the way you think about your current season of life?
Finish this sentence: “This week I will….”
